For us at AJ Medical, it has always been important that your personal data is handled in a safe and secure manner. We therefore welcome the new EU regulation GDPR, which aims to strengthen the protection of your privacy. AJ Medical complies with the GDPR in its entirety.

What does GDPR mean?
• GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is replacing the Personal Data Act.
• The GDPR aims to strengthen the protection of personal privacy in the handling of personal data.
• GDPR enters into force on 25 May 2018. From that date, the same rules apply for how personal data may be handled throughout the EU/EEA.
This is how we process personal data

AJ Medical KB, hereinafter referred to as AJ Medical manufactures, markets and distributes medical technology products to healthcare, companies and private individuals.

Our goal is for you to feel confident that your personal privacy is respected and that your personal data is processed correctly. We take responsibility for the personal data processed by AJ Medical being used only for the intended purposes and protected against unauthorized access. All processing of personal data within AJ Medical takes place in accordance with applicable personal data legislation. Within the EU/EEA, the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies from 25 May 2018.

Processing for which AJ Medical is responsible for personal data
AJ Medical is responsible for personal data for AJ Medical’s processing of your personal data and is responsible for ensuring that such processing takes place in accordance with applicable legislation. We process your information when you, for example:

What personal data do we process?
Which personal data is processed depends on the type of company you have. Company information can be personal information for an individual company or individual who gains access to AJ Medical’s products or services.

The information collected about you is e.g. name, address, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, identification information, information about your use of AJ Medical’s services and products and transaction history and for some services also pictures and location information. Where applicable, personal identity numbers and card details can also be processed.

In addition, AJ Medical may collect technical data about the devices you use to access AJ Medical’s digital channels, including IP address, browser type and cookie information. The collection described here takes place, for example, by entering your personal information in various forms on our digital channels or its services, that you communicate with AJ Medical and others via AJ Medical’s platforms in social media, leave comments in our contact forms or by phone or register for events organized by AJ Medical.

If you participate in competitions and other marketing activities that we organize, competition entries and additional personal information that you choose to provide to us may be processed.

When you contact us via customer service functions in our digital channels, for example in connection with you making a complaint, your contact information and case information will be processed by us.

If you visit or communicate with us via our social media accounts (ie third-party platforms such as Facebook), AJ Medical may receive information regarding your profile and your interactions on the third-party platform from the provider thereof.

AJ Medical has placed so-called ”cookies” in several of our digital channels. These cookies collect information about how you use the digital channel.

The personal data will be processed by us only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes of the processing or to fulfill AJ Medical’s legal obligations.

For what purposes is personal data processed?
AJ Medical processes your personal data for various purposes. We mainly process your personal data for the purpose of:
• Fulfill our obligations to you as a customer, such as making purchases, invoicing and providing support
• Enabling general customer care and customer service, as for answering questions and correcting incorrect information
• Provide information and direct marketing, by mail, email, SMS/MMS and telephone regarding AJ Medical’s and selected partners’ goods and services
• Manage the customer relationship and provide our services
• Provide you with relevant information and customized offers in newsletters and on the website
• Assess what payment methods we can offer you, for example through credit ratings

AJ Medical processes your personal data based on a number of legal grounds:

How long do we store your personal information?

AJ Medical may save the data longer if necessary to comply with legal requirements or to protect AJ Medical’s legal interests, e.g. whether a legal process is underway.

Who do we disclose personal information to?
AJ Medical may disclose your information to third parties such as partners and providers of transport, card and communication services.

AJ Medical may also disclose your information to companies that provide address update services to ensure that we have the correct address information for you.

Third parties to whom AJ Medical discloses information or otherwise provides information about a customer may only use the information for the purpose of selling and marketing AJ Medical and AJ Medical’s services and products or for the purpose of delivering services related to AJ Medical´ s agreement with you as a customer.

Personal data may also be disclosed by AJ Medical if necessary to comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements, to safeguard AJ Medcial´s legal interests or to detect, prevent or alert to fraud and other security or technical issues.

Right to information
AJ Medical is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed in accordance with applicable law.

You have the right, in accordance with the provisions of applicable personal data legislation, to request access to the personal data processed about you, to have incorrect personal data corrected, that AJ Medical shall stop processing and delete your personal data, that the processing of your personal data be restricted, to exercise your right to data portability, and to object to the processing of personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable supervisory authority at any time if you believe that your personal data is being processed in violation of applicable personal data legislation.

Personal data assistant
Processing for which the user is responsible for personal data
In some cases, you as a customer, hereinafter referred to as the User, are also responsible for the processing of personal data in relation to your use of AJ Medical’s services. AJ Medical is the personal data assistant for these tasks. It is therefore the responsibility of users to ensure that users have a legal basis for the processing of personal data and that other requirements in the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are complied with, for example in relation to the user’s customers. AJ Medical shall establish and maintain the technical and organizational measures required to protect personal data.

What are the responsibilities and rights of AJ Medical?
AJ Medical shall process personal data for which AJ Medical is the personal data assistant in accordance with the User’s instructions and the GDPR. If the User’s instructions incur additional costs for AJ Medical, AJ Medical has the right to invoice the User for such costs. AJ Medical has the right, with regard to personal data for which AJ Medical is a personal data assistant, to engage sub-assistants for the processing of personal data by written agreement. Such an agreement shall at least impose on the deputy assistant the same obligations regarding personal data processing as are imposed on AJ Medical. AJ Medical shall, upon request, inform the User of which sub-assistants HJ Medical has engaged.
